Name: Maja Costa
Country: Italy / Germany
Genre: Drama
Tagline: A father and his two daughters are forced to overcome an old family trauma.
Synopsis: After a long time two daughters meet their father on the island where he lives. They haven’t seen him since the day their mother disappeared.  At first they all automatically hold on their old family roles, but an unexpected event breaks the precarious balance and forces them to confront their fears. When their family bond seems to be lost forever, nature embraces them and shows them a possible way to deal with the pain.
CV (Writer & Director): After studying Egyptology/Ancient Near Eastern Studies (M.A.) and Cello in Italy, Maja Costa studied screenwriting at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin (dffb) and is, as a scholarship holder from SKY Italia, an alumna of the training program Serial Eyes (2015/2016).  She collaborated with many European production companies and film festivals in several positions and currently works as a freelance screenwriter/director based in Berlin. KNOPKA, the first short film she also directed, has been screened and awarded at many film festivals worldwide. In January 2017 Maja Costa co-founded the film production company mycrewfilm in Cologne, which received the support of the Mediengründerzentrum NRW. She is currently developing her first feature film with the newborn production company.
